Book Mark

The book of Mark: Can you tell me more information about it?
I have a Bible class, and need to know a lot about the book of Mark
Explanations of the parables, facts, and stuff that ties along in it.
It is the shortest of the four gospels, starting abruptly with his baptism by John and ending abruptly at his resurrection. It focuses on Jesus as a wonder-worker rather than as a teacher. Jesus is clearly portrayed as secretive and in a hurry. Its writing style is rougher than that of the other evangelists, it employs more Aramaic terms, the stories are typically shorter than they are in Matthew or Luke, and scholars consider it to likely be the first gospel written down. Some people believe the author may have been John Mark, a follower of Paul, but there is no basis for this assumption.

Emperor’s New Groove [VHS] [2001] £2.87 The Emperor’s New Groove was originally developed as an epic called Kingdom of the Sun and lost scale and most of Sting’s song score (some of which can be heard on the soundtrack) on its way to the screen. The end result is the lightest Disney film in many a moon, a joyous romp akin to Aladdin in its quotient of laughs for children and adults. The original story centres on the spoiled teenage empe… |

Star Wars Trilogy Boxset [VHS] [1977] £34.99 One explanation for the enduring appeal of George Lucas’ “space opera” might be that the Star Wars universe is a clever synthesis of a multitude of filmic, cultural and folkloric references, from Robin Hood (the Errol Flynn incarnation of course) to Tolkien to Samurai legends and Kurosawa’s Hidden Fortress in particular (the inspiration for R2D2 and C3PO). As a result, audiences of almost all ages… |
