Is biking from the heart of Waikiki to a main part of the UH campus an easy trip?
It looks like its roughly 2 miles, which seems super easy. I can skateboard 3 miles in like 15-20 minutes, so a bike should be even faster.
I lived in the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor part of the time when I was going to UH. I rode my bicycle daily. It is gently uphill all the way until you get to King street then it becomes steeper. That’s the hardest part but it only lasts a few minutes. You do get to class a little sweaty.
The best part is that you can park next to class. Make sure you get a good lock and chain.
If you are riding from Waikiki you would probably go up McCully Street. (The Ala Wai Canal blocks off Waikiki so you have to go McCully or Kapahulu to get to UH.) McCully is a busy street but if you take a smaller street parallel to it you can go just as fast.
The rain is Hawaii is rarely bad enough to stop you from biking.
